2011 Schedule

FRIDAY, MAY 20th at Harrington Centennial Hall Auditorium:

  • 6:00pm: Opening Banquet Dinner: formal atmosphere with various local chefs
    collaborating, each showcasing a separate course, as well as introducing our guest chefs
    Louisa Chu, chef and writer from Chicago, and our returning guest chef, Rob Kinneen from Anchorage.
  • 6:30pm: Dinner begins with live music and performance by Ray Troll and the Rat Fish Wranglers, as well
    as a silent auction and other entertainment. Tickets available at Old harbor Books for $50.


SATURDAY, MAY 21st at Centennial Hall, Crescent Harbor Shelter and back parking area:

  • 9-11am: Raised Bed Gardening Class (Meet at Crescent Harbor Shelter; Class by Bob Gorman)
  • 11-11:30: Maritime-themed parade
  • 11:30am-5pm: Vendor booths begin (including food, educational, and entertainment booths,
    kids games and prizes, knot tying classes, beer garden, live music by many local bands,
    or anyone interested in showcasing seafood or maritime-related items )more info contact

  • 11:30am-2pm: USCGC Maple Tours on Japonski Island
  • 11:30am-1pm: Fish Canning class in Davis Room (16 people max, pre-register w/ Christi
    @ 738-9047); $15 fee
  • 11:45am: Jennifer Perry, Aerial Silk Dancer Performance
  • 12pm: Kids art workshop with Ray Troll in Rousseau Room at Centennial Hall (limited number,
    to sign up, call Alicia @ 928-607-4845)
  • 12pm-2pm: USCG Aids to Navigation Team vessel tours (pending availability)
  • 12:15pm: Cooking Demo by guest chef Louisa Chu
  • 12:45pm: Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue Demonstration (pending availability)
  • 1pm: Naa Kahidi Dancer Performance
  • 1:30pm: New Archangel Russian Dancer Performance
  • 2pm: Jennifer Perry, Aerial Silk Dancer Performance

  • 2:45pm: Tote Races begin at Crescent Harbor’s visitor’s dock.
  • 3:30pm: Fish Head Bobbing Contest
  • 3:30pm: Adult art workshop with Ray Troll in the Rousseau Room at Centennial Hall
  • 4pm: Cutting of the cake - Ocean Dreams Wedding Cake Competition winner at Centennial Hall
  • 4:15pm: Crab races for all ages meet at Crescent Harbor shelter
  • 5-6PM: Fish Poetry at Kettleson Library. More info contact Jeff at the Greater Sitka Arts Council
  • 8-11PM: Live music and dance with Ray Troll and the Ratfish Wranglers opening and the
    headliner band Wicked Tinkers (Tickets available at Old Harbor Books for $20; more info
    available through Sitka Folk)

  • 2:15-5pm: Live music with our favorite local bands (see schedule at event for specific band times)

*Weather dependent. If needed, performance will be moved to inside Centennial Hall auditorium.
